About Smart Dolphins
Smart Dolphins is a local Victoria company that
is in the business of helping small businesses
with their technology. More specifically, we service
our clients' hardware, software, data and connectivity
needs. We also develop and maintain web sites
and databases. We're looking to succeed in the
long run by delivering the ultimate in service
and developing strong, long-term relationships
with our clients.
About "The Pod"
All Smart Dolphins are versatile individuals.
We need to be. We take on a variety of roles for
our clients (technical and otherwise) and spend
a great deal of time educating clients on the
uses and benefits of technology. Being a small
business ourselves also requires us to be flexible
and adaptive to the quickly changing business
world. Initiative, maturity and self-discipline
are also necessary with the freedom that comes
with being a part of a small team.
The atmosphere in the office is positive, open
and ever changing. We have a lot of fun but we
work hard at the same time. We all truly enjoy
working in the professional yet personable small
business atmosphere.
Most importantly we all have made a long-term
goal to helping grow Smart Dolphins into something

About the Current Position Available
As mentioned above, all Dolphins are well-rounded
individuals and the next person we welcome aboard
will be no exception. Because of our customer
centred philosophy, we all need to communicate
well, be professional yet personable and have
a strong, long-term commitment to delivering the
best service in the industry.
On the technical side of things, we are looking
for someone with many talents and a strong desire
and ability to develop the right skills. The new
team member will have a lot of varied responsibilities.
The successful candidates' primary duties will
include:
- Delivery of exceptional technology service to our
clients. Primarily these services will be provided from
our office to our clients by using the phone and remote
access technologies. The services will include general
technical support and new implementation in the areas of:
- Software and Operating Systems
- Hardware
- Networking
- Security and Safeguards
- Development of client relationships
- Research of potential new technology solutions
- Documentation of both client and internal
technical details
- Assistance with sales and marketing
- Assistance to other team members
The successful candidate will be required to
have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Strong foundation with hardware, software
and networking/connectivity and the ability and
confidence to grow upon that technical foundation
- A passion for technology and business
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Professional presentation
- Excellent interpersonal skills/ relationship
building skills
- Ability to learn and improve
- Ability to identify and sell recommendations
- An entrepreneurial sense
The successful candidate will also likely have
some or all of the following knowledge, skills
and abilities:
- Business Development Experience/Knowledge
- Excellent keyboarding skills
- Reliable Transportation
More important than specific skills is the candidate's
attitude toward people, technology and Smart Dolphins.
A strong technical foundation with a corresponding
confident and driven approach to learning, pleasing
clients and being entrepreneurial is more important
than someone who has past education or experience
with a particular technology.
Ultimately, we are looking for a team player;
Someone who will mesh well with the people that
are already part of the team, someone with the
talents for the roles that need to be filled and
someone who really wants to become a part of the
Pod.
